Folding desk
The brief for this desk was simple: a corner desk for 2 people with sit/stand option. Due to the small size of the room, other elements in the room like tv, white board, window cill, etc, and the need for a sofa bed, the design came organically: an L shape desk that allows on one side for seated workstation and the other side allows for a stand work station. The desk is continuous, folding at the corner.
Due to the need for a joint, a trim in the shape of an A (the initials of both my clients) was suggested by the talented joiners. It took various trials to achieve the difficult shape at the joinery workshop. The finishes are lacquer blue paint and veneer to match the existing wardrobe in the room. The desk is supported by 2 white simple set of drawers.
Later on the client requested a matching unit to place next to the sofa to accommodate the printer, toners, cartridges and paper shredder, which was designed in the same style.
